Nobody does it better. Since the jump, ill.Gates has been one of our absolute favorite producers--and we're not alone. The guy has worked with everybody, and he's so in-demand, because not only is he one of the funniest and nicest people on the planet, but he knows Ableton inside and out.
Now we're just gushing.
Over the years, Dylan has been a part of so many classic collabs, remixes, and releases. We've compiled a list of our absolute favorites, to give fans a chance to meet the guy behind the 2-foot dreadlock tower. As a true artist's artist, ill.Gates is going to continue to push the envelope, bend the limits of Ableton, and introduce more and more up-and-comers to cutting-edge production techniques. No ego here. Just bangin' bass.
Did we mention he's Canadian? Bonus points!!!
10. ill.Gates & VibeSquaD - The Fire Man
From Aaron Holstein's blazing album The Fire, this funky collab pits two squishy masters trying to out-squishy each other. It's like watching two jazz masters trade bars. Beautiful, glitchy goodness.
9. David Starfire - Shenai Wobbler (ill.Gates Remix)
ill.Gates is just as home in the transformational world as he is in the gullies of glitchland when he goes to Australia, or when he's spitting hot bass in the clubs. World, breaks, glitch--the guy can literally do it all.
8. ill.Gates & Ana Sia - Gene Splice
This classic is a different look from two legends. Very experimental tune from Lane and Ana Sia, who really has evolved over the past few years. Still a crazy fun one from two of our favorite producers.
