5. Willow Beats - Elemental
“Elemental” isn’t your average dubstep song, but we can’t deny the galvanizing stranglehold it possesses over us each time we press play. The ethereal tune from Willow Beats is Australian dance music to the fullest, creating an emotive amalgam of towering vocals, tight-knit production, and sounds collected in nature. We recommend streaming the duo’s Alchemy EP right about now. You won’t regret it.
4. Crywolf - The Home We Made Pt II ft Maigan Kennedy
Another emotional roller coaster of a track, we have “The Home We Made Pt. II.” Everything about Crywolf’s masterpiece is gorgeous. The juxtaposition of Maigan Kennedy and his own vocals, the alluring drum work, and even the medicating drops. Dammit Crywolf. You’re going to make us shed a tear. We’re supposed to be manly men who listen to heavy dubstep. Stop exposing our weaknesses!
3. Hadouken - Levitate (Koven Remix)
Koven’s take on Hadouken’s “Levitate” is nothing short of massive. The UK producer proved his salt in 2013 with a string of enthralling remixes and originals in the departments of dubstep and drum ‘n’ bass, willing listeners into a state of submission with his clutching instrumentations. Hearing this track for the first time is like being reborn, and we guarantee one listen just won’t satisfy.
2. The M Machine - The Palace ft Blake Hazard
We’ve yet to meet anyone in the world of electronic music who doesn’t like The M Machine. That’s just not something you hear people talking about. There’s a slew of artists on OWSLA who have both die-hard fans and avid haters, but The M Machine is not one of them. “The Palace” is simply next level. Just press play. Words can’t do this one justice.
