This Sunday: NYC's Only Electronic Dance Spa Party, 'When In Robe,' Returns To Brooklyn!
Published: February 18, 2014
When In Robe, NYC's only dance party in a spa, returns February 23rd for a night you will definitely not want to miss. This week, we have a live set from Party Supplies (Fools Gold Records), as well as Slovenian producer ICHISAN in his New York City debut. Of course, the robe master general Subset will be on hand to host as well, and we always have a few tricks up our sleeve throughout the night.
If you haven't been to a spa party yet, here's the rundown. WIth a ticket purchase, you get access to a locker and are handed a robe and a glass of free champagne. You change into a bathing suit and robe and enter the spa, which includes a 'wet lounge' with a hot tub, cold plunge, steam room, saunas, and spa treatments, as well as our 'dry lounge' with DJs, dance floor, full bar, and FREE FOOD.
Did we say free food? Yep. There's free food.
There's also a robe contest - dream up your best custom robe and wear it to the party - we choose the best robe and the winner gets a free massage. Now let's get into the performers:
Party Supplies is the production team of Justin Nealis and Sean Mahon - both a part of A-Trak's Fools Gold Records, and they're also the backing band for rapper Action Bronson. They recently co-produced the new Cam'Ron song, 'Humphrey', with A-Trak. Check out their Soundcloud full of throwback synth pop tracks.
ICHISAN is Slovenian producer Igor Skafar, who has made a name for himself with disco-infused productions that make the dance floor move. Check out his Soundcloud, and you'll end up dancing by your computer all day. Luckily, we have him making a rare NYC appearance after opening for the Disco Biscuits in Philadelphia.
Subset, our resident party host, can be seen every Saturday night rattling the floors of Webster Hall's BASSMENT. He's also supported a who'se who of DJs throughout the city, and has a strong love for TLC.
