Favorite ThisThe Magic Beans jam a tribute to '5 Points' in Denver from The Foam

Published: June 29, 2016

This second release from The Magic Beans’ new EP, The Foam, is a tribute to the Five Points district of Denver, CO. It embraces both the musical history and the modern sounds of the area by combining funk, hip hop, livetronica, and jazz into one composition. The Five Points district, its venues, and its inhabitants are the heartbeat of Denver’s independent scene. Musicians from Charlie Parker to James Brown to Wu Tang to STS9 have graced these crossroads with their music. It only seemed proper to write a song in its honor. This joint has only been performed live once by the Beans and they are very happy to offer it for FREE download and stream on their soundcloud and bandcamp account. Share the love people!

“As a resident of the Five Points district, the sites and sounds of this area naturally envelop me. I was composing music on my roof one day and these grooves just came to me. It's a testament to my neighborhood, its history, and its future” adds guitarist Scott Hachey.

Catch the Beans in Tulsa tonight, at Highberry tomorrow, and then back in Denver on Friday at the Boulder Theater for Dead pre-party with Shakedown Street.
