Published: June 20, 2011

Justin Boreta is one-third of the super-massive, unbelievably (or believably) successful Glitch Mob. With a smash hit debut record, Drink the Sea, behind them, and a new, three-track EP on the horizon (release date in mid-July), the Mob stands perched on the precipice of a 30+ date Summer Tour with nowhere to go but...up. With every song they produce being licensed for this and that, high-profile remixes including a rehashing of Daft Punk's "Derezzed" for Tron:Legacy, TGM is riding high and sitting pretty.

On today's episode, Boreta discusses his own musical background, his early forays into electronic music--which included spending time with a certain DJ Lorin (Bassnectar)--the pieces that fell into place to bring The Glitch Mob together, and the creation of their Drink the Sea debut. Tomorrow, Boreta covers the advancements in their live show, playing a variety of different venues on their upcoming tour, as well as the new record.

The Glitch Mob will be joining STS9, Bassnectar, Lotus, Beats AntiqueBig Gigantic, Paper Diamond, Eliot Lipp, Tycho, Little People, The Polish Ambassador, The Malah, and so many more this weekend at the first (and hopefully, annual) RE:Generation Festival at Horning's Hideout in Oregon.
