At The Untz, we can always get down to The Floozies. Is it because we’re floozies? Well, we’re floozies for fun, crispy beats. These dudes have taken the industry by storm with their crush mode future funk. A fraternal duo with Mark Hill on drums and Matt Hill on guitar and production, they’ve been perfecting their signature sound for over four years. It was last year's Tell Your Mother, which dropped on GRiZ’s Liberated Music label that catapulted the pair to superstardom.

Enter their newest endeavor in funkalicious exploration - Do Your Thing. Hot damn - hope you’re ready to dance (or try very hard not to, though why would you want to do that?). The 11-track album is about as groovy as it comes, overflowing with booty-shaking music that vibrates the speakers. Your heart will start beating faster and your foot will start tapping within the first ten seconds.

Do Your Thing packs that robust Floozies flair we’ve come to expect from the dynamic duo, but you can tell they’re exploring and growing by their incorporation of new instrumental sounds and beautiful melodies snuck in between fat bass. “Getaway” is a heavy, succulent banger that makes you feel like you're on a boat with a hottie in some sunny, tropical place poppin’ bottles of champagne. “Almost Morning” exudes the energy of a dancefloor anthem with a synthy, sexy vibe. It features the vocal finesse of singer/producer GiBBZ from Gramatik’s Lowtemp label.

Then there are the dirty, grimey beats of “FUNKTRP” coalescing with sultry, smooth sounds of keys, chimes, and horns. “Like Butter” is smooth with some excellent keyboard work. It’s got a playful buildup and crispy drop, with some Notorious B.I.G. sampling in thrown into the mix. The title track “Do Your Thing” rocks a slower tempo filled with glitchy bass and a flirty, melodic reprise, rounding out the release nicely.

The 44-minute album explores countless rhythms all with a light-hearted, laidback ambience. It’s brought to you by All Good Records, the brainchild of GRiZ (aka Grant Kwiecinski). Metamorphosized from Liberated Music which he started last year, it has grown into a full-service lifestyle label that promotes fellow electro funk artists and features artists like The Floozies, Manic Focus, and The Geek x VRV.

As the track “Fantastic Love” explains - “Fresh, wild, fly, and bold. We’ll be that way ‘til we grow old.” We concur with that assertion, Hill brothers. Please, keep Doin Your Thing. This funktastic groove-laden album packs a punch. If you like what you hear, be sure to catch these boys on their tour that’s about to kick off. They’ll be bringing Manic Focus for the first leg of the tour, and Russ Liquid for the second. And if THESE talented bosses are the openers, you can guarantee these shows are going to be poppin’ off outta control! Which one will you be at? Did I mention that The Untz is giving away a PAIR of tickets for each of these Do Your Thing tour dates??

And just in, the boys will be joining GRiZ on his tour when their own tour concludes!
