In its first year, the Blastoff Music and Arts Festival is already shaping up to be one of 2011’s premier summer music gatherings.  Nestled in the lush forests of Zane Shawnee Caverns in Bellfontaine, Ohio, The Blastoff boasts a heavy-hitting line-up on three jam-packed stages, an array of camping options, and plenty of art installations and demonstrations.  Scheduled performers include Ana Sia, Bass Science, Mimosa, NastyNasty, Ott, SuperDre, Tipper, VibeSquaD and plenty others.

One of the most appealing factors of the Blastoff is no gaps between music.  Though the schedule is subject to change, currently both Friday and Saturday will have continuous music starting at roughly 11:30 each morning.  And there will be plenty of late-night shenanigans going on, as music doesn’t quit until 2 a.m.

Tickets can be purchased here.  From now to the beginning of the festival, tickets will be going for roughly $125, though if you buy your passes from now through Friday the 10th, you’ll save an extra $5 on the whole weekend.

The festival is being presented by Cirque Du Womp, a troupe of psychedelic performers and promoters.  Known for their outrageous and heavily visual events and gatherings, the festival promises plenty of chances for artistic thrill seekers to get their respective minds blown.  The “Sacred Forest” and the “Galactic Temple” will be illuminated all night, featuring live art, drum circles, installations, galleries and even a 3 Dimensional String Art Playground.  Check out the video below to catch a glimpse of what the peeps over at Cirque Du Womp have in store for the festival.  All this, combined with the pure beauty of The Shawnee Caverns makes the Blastoff Festival a gathering you surely don’t want to miss!
