It's been well-worth the wait. One of the most anticipated events of the year returns with a bang. Symbiosis Gathering has made a huge splash with an enormous lineup. Chock full of eclectic indie acts, cutting edge house and techno, as well as a bevy of that deep, spiritual, psychedelic bass for which Symbiosis has become known, the crazy part about this huge unveiling is that this roster reflects less than half the 200 artists slated to perform at this one-of-a-kind event. Topping the bill as it stands are Untz faves Hudson Mohawke, Emancipator, RL Grime, Star Slinger, Brodinski, Random Rab, Ott, Michal Menert, and so many more. Discover all of the announced acts at http://symbiosisgathering.com/lineup, with more getting added in the coming weeks.
The brains behind Symbiosis have gone Steampunk (if you couldn't already tell). The post-modern, Victorian aesthetic will no doubt carry over into the art cars, giant installations, and fantastic plumage displayed, demonstrated, and powered to life over the course of mid-September weekend.
Symbiosis will take root in a brand new location. Woodward Reservoir is located in Oakdale, CA, just a 100 or so miles outside the Bay Area. Festivalgoers will be able to swim in the lake, as well as enjoy the deep beauty of a far less "desert landscape" Symbiosis than years past. Stay tuned for many more artist announcements and information from the festival. Get informed at symbiosisgathering.com.
