Before she was the namesake in the iconic track "SOFI Needs a Ladder" Sophia Toufa was a singer, dancer, and actor coming up in the late-night clubs of Germany. In the dance world, she choreographed videos for will.i.am, Avril Lavigne, and The Von Bondies, among others, and backed up Britney Spears on her 2009 Circus Tour. Now a full-fledged EDM head, her debut EP Locked and Loaded Pt. 1 has just been released, with the second half coming out in December.

Recently, SOFI was signed by Joel Zimmerman, a.k.a. Deadmau5, to his taste-making mau5trap label. She's been on and off the Meowington's Hax Tour, which has at various points featured Excision, Feed Me, and Le Castle Vania, among others. This weekend will be huge as she hits Santa Barbara tonight Petco Park in San Diego tomorrow night with the mau5, Feed Me, and Avicii.
