We've been following the career of Benji Hannus with quite a bit of interest. Not only because he's one of the main driving forces behind the wildly successful Wormhole Wednesday gatherings at The New Parish in Oakland, Calif. but also because of his forward-thinking bass music as Secret Recipe. Today we got our hands on a brand spankin' new one from him, ahead of the release of his latest EP, Post Dystopian Renaissance.
Full of wonky wobbles and 808 flavors, this deep album cut is right up our alley. If you listen closely, you'll be able to pick out Hannus' own vocoded vocals underlining the title of the track. This marks the first time Benji actually used his own voice in one of his songs. "Break Like Diamonds" is a great entreé for fans looking to get into the weirder side of west coast music. Catch the release from Street Ritual on March 1.
