Taking a detour (somewhat) from the electro-soul and future funk for which they've become known, Resonant Frequency, the livetronica trio from Austin, TX comprised of Diamond Cuts, Lando, and Local Color, gives us a taste of the band's forthcoming EP.
"Retrospect" is the title track from the new five-track collection, which explores some subtler sounds from the guys. The lead single a downtempo, instrumental hip-hop tune which showcases the chops of Vince Seidl, Landon Reichle, and Ben Slade. It's not lacking energy in any way, quite the opposite. The intense melodies and production work pack a lot of punch into a chill song.
We'll be on the lookout for the rest of the EP, as Resonant Frequency continues to expand its sound.
