Bringing psychedelics to an uppers and downers party might be a bad idea for most, but not Indigo Uprise. The teen guitar prodigy added his psychedelic glitch to Clint Mansell's theme from Requiem for a Dream. The Darren Aronofsky tone-piece about junkies of all shapes and sizes--that borders on the... let's say... upsetting, not to put too fine a point on a it--is full of doom and gloom, but Uprise kicks it in raggedy pants and gives it a nice upbeat tempo. Defying classification to a certain extent, this remix pulls influences from a fair number of genres, leaving it less for the analytical lens, and more for people who want to get its catchy hook and upbeat bounce stuck in their heads.
