Published: December 15, 2011

Random Rab will close out an amazing year of live performances with a holiday gift for all to share: the release of his fourth album, Visurreal. With the album already in the ranks of the iTunes Top 10 Electronic Charts less than a week after its debut, the “Master of Emotion” has achieved yet another masterpiece in his relentless pursuit of a sound outside the mainstream, while forging his own style of electronic music.

A classically trained musician, Random Rab has emerged as a leading influence in today’s electronic world by producing some of the most intuitive and exploratory music on the market. A true artist, Rab has taken his background playing in jazz orchestras, country bands, and metal groups and melded these different identities into a multi-faceted composition, filled with soaring highs and deep emotive beats.

With the release of Visurreal, Random Rab’s remarkable music is captured flawlessly on the 17 track LP. Filled with the deep compositions and touching storylines the album meanders through emotions like a bee in a field, dropping down for beautiful splashes of color and drifting through the wind with dreamy abandon. The plugging baseline and half-step of I Alone leads the listener into a swirling sea of Rab’s own vocals and carries a delicately placed emotion. In Apparently, he hints back at the floating ambience of his 2009 release aRose, with a peaceful vocal reflection running within the simplicity of a gentle beat and humming bass. There is a certain fluidity that runs throughout the album, presenting and then hiding itself as each track evolves to become its own unique composition, something we’ve come to expect from Random Rab.

After an action packed 2011, including 40 tour dates with Shpongle and his 14th annual performance at Burning Man, Random Rab is showing no signs of slowing down. An artist, a revolutionary and a composer; Rab will push into 2012 with same the sonic genius that lead him to the headlines of festivals across the country this summer including a number of west coast dates in March as well as a headlining slot at the Envision Festival in Uvita, Costa Rica.
