House has a new hero. And his name is Jonathan Paulsen. Producing as PrototypeRaptor, this young producer from Norman, OK (which looks like I'm saying "He's from Norman, OKAAAY??") has not only the production skills of someone twice his age, but the musical maturity, as well. "Timeless," the lead single from his forthcoming release, Nostalgiarithim, has a bluesy build that would make Dr. John proud. He then closes the raging climax with a lead synth solo that would make Bernie Worrell stand up and cheer. But most importantly, the pianist he really evokes is Herbie Hancock, who was daring enough to experiment with this weird new electronic music thing, and bring dusty old jazz back into the modern vernacular. Paulsen, along with prodigies like Zedd are bringing artisty and composition and performance back to the forefront. And for that, PrototypeRaptor, we commend you.
