It's time, once again, to rip yer fuckin' sleeves off. Stylust Beats introduces us to a pair of western Canadians who have been making waves from their outpost in Victoria. Getting their start in the underground hip-hop act Sweatshop Union, Pigeon Hole pairs throwback rap sensibilities with a cutting-edge trap aesthetic.
The comparisons to G Jones are obvious, but they don't veer off into his brand of psychedelia, as much as they create their own. "HU$TLA" and "Killah" combine precision production technique with this rawness that's aboslutely addicting. The pair releases its HU$TLA EP on Stylust's Sleeveless Records, our new go-to imprint for wildly innovative bass music.
Catch Pigeon Hole at Shambhala in August; their live sets are absolutely legendary. We'd expect no less from the duo honored with an album of the year selection by the Western Canada Music Association. Leave your sleeves on the ground--you're not gonna need 'em.
