Inspired by towering legends in the psychedelic bass community, Dave Tipper chief among them, Colorado's Nas-Ja today premieres "CataWhompus Rhompus" from his forthcoming album The Owl Chronicles, due out on October 19.

With a dubby, glitchy mindset, artists like Andreilien and Kaminanda come to mind with the midtempo squelch of this fun little tune. Playing with tempo and space, parts fall away completely and are built back up again as Nas-Ja playfully rearranges parts and reconfigures patterns. It's quite an extraordinary composition, and each little meticulous edit pays off. Keep an eye for this album, as well as another one slated for a MalLabel release next month.
