Joe Torre is on an unbelievable hot streak. First he hit 30K likes on Facebook. Then he releases part 3 in his "Life of Sin" series, and rockets to number one on Billboard.com's Next Big Sound chart. And let's just add a sidenote: who in the electronic music scene is building a catalog that reads like Bach or Mozart or Beethoven? They didn't just write one Minuet in C or cantata or fugue or symphony. Beet's wrote nine o' them suckers. So it's cool that MitiS is revisiting themes and ideas, writing counter-melodies and exploring different movements on a melody; transposing, shifting rhythmic signatures. This is the work of a true composer. And the lush, vibrant soundscapes he's creating put him more in the "composer" field than simply an EDM producer on a hot streak. He's laying the foundation for something big. Something memorable and lasting that will define a generation with its lyric majesty. And no, I'm not exaggerating. This Torre kid's got it.
