Coachella 2016Among the headliners already suspected to join the Coachella 2016 lineup, returning to Empire Polo Grounds in Indio, CA from April 15-17 and its second weekend April 22-24, one stood out as the biggest surprise. After a four year hiatus, LCD Soundsystem returns to the scene with a new single, and an expected major summer festival tour.

Principal member James Murphy has yet to reveal which members will constitute the touring company for the newly reuninted act. The indie-electronic outfit had a decade-long run from 2001 to 2011, before performing its "final" show at Madison Square Garden before a sold out crowd that April. After much speculation, LCD Soundsystem released "Christmas Will Break Your Heart" on December 24th, which all but clinched the news that was confirmed yesterday.

Another major reunion brings back Guns N Roses, whose most iconic members Axl Rose and Slash have apparently squashed a 20-year beef leading up to yesterday's announcement. It appears Rose, Slash, and bassist Duff McKagan constitute the reformed lineup, but it's unclear who else will be joining the hair metal legends.

On the electronic tip, Calvin Harris headlines both sets of Sundays, while Diplo will be holding down the pair of weekends with appearances by both Jack U and Major Lazer. Disclosure, Zedd, Flume, and electronica legends Underworld have all secured spots.

On the underground tip, left-field acts like Mr. Carmack, Nosaj Thing, and Matthew Dear have popped up on the lineup, alongside more mainstream acts like Tchami, Matoma, Thomas Jack, Hudson Mohawke, John Digweed, Sasha, Dubfire, Soul Clap, Rufus Du Sol, Bob Moses, Maceo Plex, and Baauer.

While GA festival and camping passes are sold out, the more intricate packages and VIP levels go on sale tomorrow, January 6, at 11am PST (and are expected to completely sell out within hours). Fans can visit coachella.com and cross their fingers for the big ticket release tomorrow.
