Austin O'Meara has really been spreading noise in Denver and beyond over the last year in his short tenure as Kinetik Groove. He has the music theory background to solidify his visions to paint a funky canvas of jams, and "Something Special" plays as its read.
This beat has all the best aspects of production melted together like your favorite local shatter. Hot funk synths, layered guitar riffs by the talented 6-stringer who also DJs live while playing, creating live samples and mixing as he performs (along with percussionist Steve Kirsch, who escalates the sound further). Vox samples that are really pitched nicely create some color during the heavy bass. Overall it's a great piece for any fan of electronica and Kinetik Groove is an artist who is hitting the radar for a reason. "Something Special" is a groovy everything plus. Don't trust me, ask your booty after pushing play. Catch him at the Abbey Pub in Chicago on April 4 with VibeSquaD, Kaminanda, and Stylust Beats.
