In the first three tracks (after the haunting intro succumbing to the realization of relevancy and originality) of The Oak in the Acorn, Helicopter Showdown runs through dubstep, trap, and house like it's nobody's business--but theirs. The 10 track LP demonstrates the Bay Area bassketeers' prowess in all genres, pulling strength from all angles to assemble a mature album that's got something for everybody. A couple of tracks featuring Young Aundee tug at our heartstrings, and we can't imagine the shame the promoter "Left for Dead at LaGuardia" is almost surely a tribute to must feel. Dubstep fan or not, this is an impressive release from the boys that bears listening by all dance music fans--which makes it all the more insane that it's absolutely FREE. Grab it now...
