For those looking to expand their electronic horizons a bit, might we point you in the direction of Aussie Griff, whose latest album, Interstate, is a stunning exemplar of electro-acoustic comingling. Blending bubbling beats with imaginative chord progressions lovingly strummed, struck, and slid across whip-smart drumming from Ben Hendry, each cut sizzles with a proggy energy that is equal parts King Crimson and Crazy Daylight.
Lightly funky "Seven By Six" and the jazzy "Bugs in Amber" standout, while closer "Dental Blues" and it's country-friend Gorillaz gait could easily find itself in an episode of Justified. This is a wildly inventive take on the glitch aesthetic that's worth more than a few repeat listens. Snag this beaut from Addictech Records.
