For Boris Gladkikh, making a difference is all that matters. The bass music melody-maker jumped at the opportunity to contribute a track to the Neurovation compilation, out now on Gravitas Recordings. All proceeds from the comp go directly to Charity:Water, whose goal of bringing clean, accessible drinking water to remote parts of developing countries is more than tangible. All it takes is $5000 to build one well, which would change the lives of countless people. And Gladkill's cut alone is worth it. Smooth and sensual, the rolling waves of bass and synth masterfully weave in and out of solid percussive dynamism. There is an ebb and flow to "Cruise Control" that evokes the gentle unravelling of the concrete carpet as you ease on down the highway. Nobody does melody like Boris G. Joined by edIT, Minnesota, SPL, Psymbionic, and other members of his Headtron family, Gladkill is walking the walk by offering up a piece of his art for this compilation. All we ask is that you consider joining in; helping out the cause, all the while helping yourself to a steamy stack of some of the most progressive bass music on the market. Catch Gladkill this fall as he hops aboard Bassnectar's Freestyle tour.
