Favorite ThisFuture Rock - "Nights" released

Published: April 12, 2011

After much anticipation, Future Rock's new album has finally arrived. Nights is a tight, five-song EP which showcases the trio's signature sound, and provides a glimpse into the future... not only of rock, but of the band.

The tracks Ode to a Droid, $$$$$, and Shimmer feature FR's frenzied, driven, and ecstatic rendition of the live electro sound. Some throwback synth sounds fill the sonic gaps with fuzz and radiance. Barnstorming four-on-the-floor kicks rip-roar through the band's energetic style, which is hard to capture unless you're standing three feet from their stage. Leif Moravy, the band's manager, stepped in to mix and master this sonic tribute to Chicago's premiere livetronica act.

Fellow Chicagoans from Van Ghost make an appearance on the EP. Vocalists Michael Harrison Berg and Jennifer Hartswick add their talents to the title track Nights and Spark, respectively. Their ethereal soul seal the retro vibe for this futuristic act. Catch Future Rock on the road now with Sub Swara
