Our friends at Funkadelphia have tipped us off on another underground bass producer making waves in the scene. Pittsburgh's DICEY has found himself on a number of high-profile bills in the region thanks to an immaculate ear and impeccable taste. Johnny Ortiz has been steady hustling on his production game, and we're delighted to premiere his new one today.
“Bit Death” is a bit-crushed wubbler from the twisted mind of a bass fan who went way deep on the dubstep game and then pulled it back with a tasteful tact for subtlety. There's impressive restraint on this young producer's tune, when he steadies the throttle right around groovy bass blasts and toes the line of too much.
You can catch DICEY live and in the flesh tonight in Morgantown, West Virginia alongside TRUTH, Shlump, and Woolymammoth (holy shit, what a lineup), and then tomorrow night (August 25) in Columbus, Ohio with DMVU and Lord Swan3x. Next month he's got dates with Buku, LUZCID, and Space Jesus, and then he's closing out October at Nightmare Festival in Darlington, Maryland. Busy guy.
