Favorite ThisDebut Metranohm? Honey Badger Don't Care!

Published: June 25, 2012
"The Honey Badger EP", the debut release from Texas native Metranohm, is the perfect summer soundtrack for upbeat bass lovers.  While honey badger might not care, Metranohm's attention to detail shines through all four tracks, highlighting his influences from breaks, techno, and drum'n bass - all repackaged to fit a modern dubstep taste and appeal. Although most of the EP resides in the 140bpm range, "Break It Down" stands apart as a heavy helping of midtempo glitch hop. The title track builds healthy tension before dropping into rolling waves of stuttering bass, while "Chilly Down" explores the producer's deeper side. "Jawa" brings up the rear with jovial vibes akin to the Star Wars creatures to which the track was named for, rounding out the album and paving the way for many more Metranohm releases to come.
