ABX and STV SLV (pronounced as three letters and “steve sleeve,” respectively,) are The Hood Internet. The Chicago duo draws from many different genres to assemble their remixes, producing nearly 400 mixes over the past three years. All of their mixes can be downloaded for free on www.thehoodinternet.com.

Similar to mash-up artists like Girl Talk, The Hood Internet has used samples from artists like Rihanna, Crystal Castles, Deadmau5, Yeasayer, M.I.A., Vampire Weekend, Metric, Matt & Kim, Drake, Big Boi, and The XX—just to name a few. Their latest Mixtape on their SoundCloud manages to mix all of these artists and transitions smoothly from one track to the next. Though perhaps operating in a sphere dominated by Girl Talk, The Hood Internet puts its own spin on each mix, in some cases making it even catchier than the real song. Check out their bouncy, upbeat, whistle-heavy remix of Foster The People’s “Pumped Up Kicks,” feat Hollywood Holt. The Hood Internet will almost certainly be leaving their mark—and raising their profile—at Camp Bisco this year.
