Electric Forest 2016Employing an ingenious campaign to reveal its lineup bit-by-bit via the fans, Electric Forest today unveiled its first phase of artists for the already sold out monster festival hitting Double JJ Ranch in Rothbury, MI once more, June 23-26. Mailing out sections of the lineup to 150 ticketholders around the country, FedEx deliveries started showing up early in the morning (including one to our offices) so fans could Tweet, Instagram, or Snapchat their portion of the lineup, and the impatient could piece together the clues throughout the day.

Among the big names revealed, Adventure Club, Porter Robinson, Tchami, and Nahko & Medicine for the People had fans falling all over themselves throughout the process. In what must seem like Groundhog Day (in a good way) for Bassheads, the Sultan of Smash, Lorin Ashton is bringing the Bassnectar bandwagon back to the Forest for a second straight year, headling alongside festival hosts, The String Cheese Incident, who will once again play 3 shows, as well as Diplo's Major Lazer, which will no doubt, rip fans to shreds with its intensity.

GRiZ is joined by All Good Records mates The Floozies, Manic Focus, and SunSquabi. It was also a good day for Tribe fans, as STS9 returns again to Rothbury. While Odesza is not on the lineup, Foreign Family faves RÜFÜS DU SOL and Hayden James made the list, and fans of downtempo hip-hop and instrumental electronica will be thrilled to see Bonobo and Frameworks on the lineup.

Not only is the great lineup in place to thrill ticketholders who managed to snag passes while the very limited supplies flew off the shelf, but more artists will be added, as will the curated stages and plenty of surprise Forest goodies. We are pleased to also announce the Electric Glen will be returning, and with it comes panels galore, as well as workshops and tons of the newest gadgets in the industry for fans and artists to test out.

While tickets may be gone, there are ways to snag yourself some free spots, and remember, The Untz Challenge is just around the corner, which will win a couple of lucky artists spots at this highly-anticipated festival.
