Favorite ThisBassnectar Kicks Off Divergent Spectrum Tour, Releases Summer Recap Vid

Published: September 5, 2011

Lorin Ashton is possessed by some sort of otherworldly demon, which is allowing him to follow up a brutal summer schedule featuring headlining performances at major events from coast to coast and beyond with a monster tour which kicks off tomorrow. Bassnectar's Divergent Spectrum Fall Tour 2011 will be blasting off tomorow in Albuquerque, and continues into late November with stops at huge amphitheaters and auditoriums, as well as slightly more intimate theater shows. You've got not one, but TWO Bass Centers, Ashton's indoor mini-festivals, taking place in San Francisco and DC in mid- and late-September respectively. There are also a pair of enormous dates at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Alpharetta, Georgia with Mr. Derek Vincent Smith, a.k.a. Pretty Lights. One can only imagine there's something nasty in store for unsuspecting fans during that double dose.

For a sneak peek of what's in store for this tour, check out this recap video of the summer's insanity. Footage comes from The Hangout, EDC Vegas, and of course, the very first Bass Island blowout.

To gear you up for the Fall Tour, Bass HQ has put together a number of fun little items to get mouths watering for bass blasts. The first special treat is a little Bass Taster, assembled by Ashton himself with commentary about each track. It's a FREE combo pack of 11 tunes that give new fans an idea of what the 'Nectar is all about. For those weary of attending their first show, the team has put together a handy little survival guide. Of course, for the thousands and thousands of fans who attended multiple shows this year, you know that $1 from each ticket was set aside for charitable causes, and now there's $50,000 waiting to go out to three special organizations from the $/BH (Dollar per Bass Head) fund. Lorin has left it up to fans to decide which charity will receive the biggest cut of the loot. Vote now by visiting www.bassnectar.net, and casting your vote on the splash page. It goes without saying that TheUntz.com is a big fan of the Free Press fund, but all causes are worthy! And finally, for those fans who have not only attended several shows, but are die-hard Bass Heads and will follow the sweet, sweet juice of bassitude to the ends of the earth, Bassnectar is looking for more amBASSadors to join him and the crew at Bass Centers III and IV spreading the gospel of the low end.
