Backwoods 2018 Phase 2After taking the year 2017 off to re-tool and reorganize, Backwoods is back!

The festival which originated over Labor Day Weekend in Oklahoma is relocating to Wakarusa's old home of Mulberry Mountain in Ozark, Arkansas over April 20-22, 2018. With a new location and new dates, it was imperative for the festival to really hone a new sound. The initial lineup went for a blend of fun and funky jamtronica mixed with heavy, experimental bass. With the second phase, the Backwoods team really expanded on that concept.

The sax man GRiZ joins fellow All Good Records label mates, The Floozies, at the top of the lineup, along fellow live electronic hybrid STS9. There are a few acts straddling the jam/dance rock ouevre with Papadosio, Emancipator, SunSquabi, The Werks, Zoogma, Muzzy Bearr, and Modern Measure also on the bill. Pretty Lights Movement favorite Michal Menert also joins this rowdy bill.

Heavy bass is represented by incoming headliner SNAILS, as well as FIGURE, Space Jesus, and the more experimental Yheti and Jade Cicada.

On the weird bass tip, the ThazDope Records late night sets have expanded, considerably. The roster has filled out to Aplsoz, beardthug, Brainrack, Cntrlla, Cut Rugs, Danny Grooves, Eazybaked, Kirby Bright, LoDurr, Salty, Smith., Smokestax, and stage host Spankalicious, who will rule over the wee hours of the morning.

A whole bevy of local and regional acts round out the lineup, making this a truly grassroots festival that gives hustling acts from Colorado, Texas, Missouri, and of course, Arkansas, a chance to show off their sound.

Tickets are available now at backwoodsmusicfestival.com where you can also find more information about the festival.
