Well... the song is called "Fartknocker," so... ya know. Andreilien wins.
One of our all-time favorite glitch and bass producers Andrei Olenev is on the precipice of unveiling his first full-length release under the Andreilien name. As a butterfly emerges from the chrysalis and sheds its former self, this flexible bass producer has reinvented himself entirely, spinning wild live sets filled with glitchy, dubby goodness, rarified space funk, and even drum and bass.
Our first taste of the new album, Ergot Curry, which drops April 28th on Muti Music, gives us that thrilling outer limits vibe, but introduces a lot of funkier sounds, even subsuming some trappy 808 elements within its signature Andreilien aesthetic. With the bounce comes plenty of psychedelia, and while the whole album encapsulates a whole bunch of diverse elements, it's still a cohesive collection of tracks.
You can catch Andreilien this weekend in Denver at the SONIC BLOOM pre-parties at Cervantes, he'll be at the How Weird Street Faire in San Francisco on Sunday, and returns to Chicago on the Road to Sonic Bloom tour April 30th.
