The final mix in Ana Sia's series has arrived. "We-K" is a tribute to the somewhat forgotten genre of grime. It certainly doesn't get its due in this bass-ridden EDM landscape, but it serves as a foundation for a ton of the artists we know and love today. A fusion of garage, dancehall, and hip-hop, grime burst forth from the underbellies of the UK underground scene, and was batted around for a while by the edgier producers and DJs of the day. Ana Sia throws in some more familiar tones and tracks with this mix, but continues her pursuit of the deeply off-kilter, and lovable weirdness that gives her sets a raw and wild vibe to this day. Ana Sia will be sharing her vision of a more perfect bass union tonight at RE:CREATION in San Francisco at 1015 Folsom, celebrating Bicycle Day alongside Michal Menert, Heyoka, David Starfire, and tons of amazing artists like Alex & Allyson Grey, Jonathan Singer, and MARS-1.
