East-Los Angeles producer Astro Nautica swims through sound with an effortless laid-back glide on sophomore release “Waikiki”. Largely created while seeking shelter from a tropical storm in Waikiki Hawaii late last year, Edrina Martinez provides us with the perfect pop blend of programmed drums, guitar writing, lush synthesizer work, and cherry-on-top guest vocals to match the many moods of the human mind. A perfect palette for your pleasure, Waikiki begins and ends with instrumental magic, yet allow the album as your guide.
