BREAK SCIENCE (PRETTY LIGHTS MUSIC)

www.facebook.com/breakscience

www.breaksciencemusic.com

www.soundcloud.com/break-science

The Brooklyn based electronic duo, Break Science kick off 2012 with the release of their second EP entitled Monolith Code (Pretty Lights Music). As seasoned producers and touring veterans, Adam Deitch and Borahm Lee have produced and performed with everyone from The Fugees, Wu Tang Clan, and Talib Kweli, to reggae Lee Scratch Perry and Miles Davis collaborator, John Scofield. On Monolith Code, Break Science evokes a wide spectrum of electronic genres filtered through a musician's lens, all while moving people spiritually AND on the dance floor.

"Monolith Code is the innate message we have to decipher to get to the next step in our evolution" says Lee. "The monolith represents a transition into a higher level of consciousness. A spark that initiates us to consider wider possibilities and ideas. The code is the system to express this transformation. Containing information from the past, present and future, it holds the key to unlock our potential as spiritual beings."

Adam Deitch describes the musical process behind the record. "We understand that to bring our vision to life, we have to spend just as much time on the programmed elements as we do on the live elements. Our goal is to blend these elements seamlessly, so everything comes together in an organic way. Our music is layered with different frequencies and sonic textures so it becomes something you can listen to multiple times and STILL hear new elements you might have missed the first time. We are influenced by everything from hip-hop and glitch, to jazz, soul, vinyl drum breaks and dub. We like certain elements of dubstep and drumstep (especially that BASS) and try to incorporate that sound in a fresh, new way."

Break Science is poised to make their biggest mark yet onto the burgeoning livetronica scene. Joining forces with a movement of new electronic artists on the Pretty Lights Music label, this potent duo will continue to push the boundaries of modern music.

KEYS N KRATES

Keys N Krates formed in 2008 out of a desire to do something different. They wanted to take the remix/electronic sound out of the studio and onto the stage, creating a new live electronic experience. The Toronto-based trio – comprised of the high-energy Adam Tune on drums, synth-master David Matisse on keys, and internationally award-winning Jr. Flo on turntables – began by locking themselves in a rehearsal room for six months to create and finesse their unique sound and identity.

Starting as a mainly live act doing live re-works of rap and house tunes, the group eventually moved into making their own beats and translating those into their live show. The result? A blend of rap beats, trap and electronic music played live before your very eyes. Keys N Krates collage raw samples and twist them with live instrumentation, creating a truly unique live dance party. With two live off-the-floor mixtapes, two self released eps ("The Blackout" and "Lucid Dreams") and a slew of remixes under their belt, the outfit is set to release their EP "Solow" on Dim Mak Records in 2013 which will follow the release of their single "Treat Me Right."

Over the last year, KNK toured with and played alongside artists including; Major Lazer, Pretty Lights, Flying Lotus, Bassnectar and Skrillex to name a few. In 2012 the band continued to make an impact on the festival scene, playing major shows at Wakarusa, Ultra Music Festival, Movement Festival, Osheaga and Sonar in Barcelona.

SPANKALICIOUS (Cincinnati, OH)

www.spankalicious.bandcamp.com

In 2011 Spank played more than 100 shows, traveling more than 90,000 miles, meeting amazing people while attempting to spread a message of higher awareness and social consciousness. From sunrise sets in the French Quarter of New Orleans to the 4:20 set at Wakarusa 2011, and many places in between, Spanky has been consistently rocking parties at every stop. Playing alongside every major cutting edge act in livetronica, bass music, electro, and hip-hop (Pretty Lights, Caspa, Borgore—the list goes on) as well as several major festival appearances including Sonic Bloom, Bassnectar’s First Bass Center, Camp Euforia, and more. Spankalicious already in 2012 made his triumphant return this year’s Summer Camp Music Festival, as well as make his debut at The Manifestation Celebration in Dallas, the inaugural IMPULSE Music Festival in Georgia, and the blowout Camp Bisco XI in upstate NY alongside some of the biggest acts of today. An extensive background in rudimental percussion and drumline allows Spank to read rhythms inside and out and even incorporate live drumming into his sets. With musical influences ranging from the Grateful Dead and Phish to U.G.K. and Three Six Mafia, Spanky has found his niche in his world of Glitchy Hippie Psychedelic Bounce.

2012 has seen the release of Psychedelic Boogaloo Intervention, his third studio album. Recently, Spankalicious unveiled his signature hat from Grassroots California, which was paired with a huge performance at Cervantes’ Masterpiece Ballroom in Denver, Colorado. Right now, all eyes are on the upcoming Do Magical Things North American Tour.

Music is my favorite form of self expression. I'm a Florida based Producer/Performer. The music that I create can be hard to describe within the confines of one specific genre. I like to experiment with different instrumentation, production techniques and song structure. I have been performing my original tracks while providing live harmonic accompaniment with an electronic keyboard. My personal music tastes are all over the map. I like my music to be an escape. I enjoy making sounds and rhythms that take you out of this world.
