Shpongle

(Twisted UK)

Known around the world for the mind-bending and fully immersive sensory experience that Shpongle concerts promise to deliver, Shpongle has raised the bar to new heights with the latest addition to its set-up. This year, UK-based DJ/Producer Simon Posford (the driving force behind Shpongle) is getting ready to hit cities across the US with a full-scale production tour entitled Shpongle presents The Shpongletron Experience.

Quite literally a monumental creation, the “Shpongletron” itself is the brainchild of VJ Zebbler and Coast II Coast Entertainment. It is the visual expression of Shpongle’s multi-dimensional auditory experience. Towering 18-feet above the stage and blasting audiences with 4 levels of psychedelic mayhem, concertgoers should expect nothing less than the best in modern eye candy. With platforms on each side of the structure for dancers to mesmerize the crowd with LED hula-hoops and other glowing art forms, a blooming lotus-like array of screens and an always enigmatic Posford at the center of it all, The Shpongletron Experience is like nothing Shpongle fans have ever seen before. The structure also features a 6-foot Shpongle Mask (the iconic face that often adorns Shpongle’s albums) that virtually comes alive with projected visuals and animatronics.

Shpongle will also be hurling the listener into unfamiliar territory by showcasing tracks off the just released The God Particle EP. To use their own words, “this maelstrom of beauty and surprise” is an experiment listeners will want to experience “time and time again to reveal the new exciting levels of far out musical adventures” that Posford and friends have been unveiling with their ever-evolving sound.

See the website - http://www.shpongle.com/ for more details and updates.

Random Rab

“Emerging from his own distinct corner of the West Coast electronic music scene, Random Rab offers a powerful and unique contribution to sonic exploration. Often referred to as “The Master of Emotion” his music is patently beautiful and melodic. With diverse influences ranging from trip-hop, classical and Arabic to bass driven compositions, his songs are considered anthemic and timeless. As a multi-instrumentalist and singer, his tracks are organic, uplifting and stand on their own as a distinct genre. Listeners of all types of music can find something they can relate to in his sound.

There is no doubt that Rab understands a multitude of musical styles. He has been the front man of a heavy metal band, toured as a classical trumpet player, played bass in a country music band, was a scratch DJ for a jazz fusion project, was the singer for a rock band in Mexico and has collaborated with countless musicians of all styles. From acoustic performances in the Himalayas to rocking packed clubs in New York, Random Rab has found a way to connect with people of all kinds.

With a dedicated fanbase born from the San Francisco underground, Random Rab has become a Burning Man legend known for his sunrise sets that have now become one of his most sought after performances. His current popularity can often be traced to his breakout album, The Elucidation of Sorrow. This album firmly established him as a recognizable force in the electronic music scene. His latest and 4th album aRose, catapulted him into the state of momentum that is now taking hold internationally. The much anticipated 5th album is expected early 2011.

Sometimes performing solo and at other times featuring collaborative musicians, the live experience is focused on a high quality translation of sound that is simultaneously sexy and psychedelic.”

Tom Foolery

(Catalytic Souls)

TomFoolery is currently one of the most recognized breaks DJs in the Mid-West. Pushing the limits of the breaks sound and defying all notions of what breaks are is routine for this DJ. Coming from the hard and funky sounds of the dirty south into the deep progressive sounds of the Mid-West has left a unique imprint on TomFoolery's track selection and mixing style. A favorite on the underground circuit, TomFoolery will still take time to perform for the older more sophisticated club scene. The past year has seen TomFoolery perform in over twenty cities in twelve states. TomFoolery's big room breaks have landed him in the heart of techno at Detroit's legendary DEMF afterparties, they have seen him follow up acts like Kaskade at New Orlean's Vampire Stripper Sluts and put him peak hour at Tampa's world renown Amphitheater. His life as a master breaks DJ is but one aspect of TomFoolery's appeal. His studio work and fascination with synthesis has begun to flourish. Be on the look out for his name as artist/remixer on productions from around the globe, including the upcoming release of Defiance remixed by top UK nuskool producer, Transformerman. TomFoolery is also behind the scenes designing some of the regions most loved festivals featuring everything from regional bluegrass to some of the world's most esteemed electronic acts. The annual Underground Sound (Mid-West Freak-Fest) parties have received world wide recognition and in short time have developed a cult like following from across the nation and around the globe. TomFoolery is more than just an entertainer. He came up in the light of DJs like Paul van Dyke, Carl Cox, and Uberzone where the DJ was more than a musician but a spiritual guide. TomFoolery has broken free of the constraints around him and seeks to free others: mind, body and soul. Allow him to share the keys of freedom and join him on the journey.
