This is
a three day music and arts festival held at the Angelica County fairgrounds, geared to be a mini Woodstock of sorts--over 30 plus bands, live demonstrations, a trance/techno tent, gypsy village, wellness tent, craft vendors, great food, campgrounds and camping, etc! The proceeds will be donated to the Allegany & Steuben local public schools to save the music and arts programs. You don't want to miss it!
This Festival's cause:
As local musicians, we have realized that today's students are not being awarded the same opportunities that we enjoyed growing up. Recent budget cuts across New York State have taken away from art and music programs, denying these children and those of future generations the chance to foster their creativity and learn to express themselves at a young age.
This festival is a chance for local artists and musicians to share their talents with the community while helping to raise funds to provide these schools with the equipment necessary to allow our children the same chances we had. These programs that inspired us growing up will be able to help today's students become tomorrow's talent. Allegany County is renowned for its local artists, although it still remains one of the poorest counties in New York State. We are dedicated to bringing students and other community members together for one united worthy cause: to benefit Steuben and Allegany Counties and the creative forces at work within the area.
This festival will be a great end-of-summer opportunity to enjoy local bands, as well as bands from as far as Maryland, Rhode Island, New Jersey, New York City, and Pittsburgh. There will be displays from local vendors, artists, and artisans. Members from the SCA will be on the fairgrounds to provide great entertainment for all ages. A large portion of the profits from the festivities will benefit local music and art programs. As well as continuing the festival and generating more revenue to help the kids.
Tickets are on sale now, and are $40 dollars presale, or $50 after July 4th, for a full weekend of entertainment and fun, including on-site camping. Parking will be available, at a cost of $5 per vehicle. There will be no on-site alcohol sales, although BYOB camping is permitted. New York State laws still apply, so no underage drinking will be tolerated. There can be no fireworks or fires, but there will be a community firepit at night. No dogs or glass bottles please.
Our goal is to bring together as many groups and clubs, from as many local colleges and schools as possible, giving them the opportunity to promote their talents while benefiting their community. Local film students will be on hand filming a documentary throughout the festivities.
So, come out and have fun with us for a good cause!! We hope to see you there!
Want to BE INVOLVED??? Are you a photographer, artist, film maker, vendor, volunteer, band, musician, business, investor, anyone who just wants to help kids express themselves and build on their talents. Please Contact us!!! ...All Questions welcome!!!
