The 2014 Movement Electronic Music Festival, taking place Memorial Day weekend (May 24-26) inside Detroit’s Hart Plaza, announces a loaded phase two lineup featuring some of electronic music’s most illustrious artists and crossover acts, including Techno giants, Marco Carola, Boys Noize, Maceo Plex; trap music stars and MAD DECENT label mates, Baauer, RiFF RAFF, DJ Snake, Flosstradamus; and hip-hop super producer, Just Blaze.

Legendary techno icon, Kevin Saunderson will present Origins – a special showcase celebrating the originators, torchbearers and next wave creators of Techno and their cross-generational influence on each other. Saunderson will perform alongside an assembled group of artists, including fellow techno pioneers and emerging Detroit talent.

The ninth edition of the annual dance event welcomes renowned DJ and composer, Bonobo for his first-ever Movement appearance. The British native has received numerous accolades for the 2012 masterpiece Black Sands as well as his latest project The North Borders, released in spring of 2013. Fellow Brit, Jamie xx, one-third of the highly acclaimed indie electronic band The xx, will also make his Movement Festival debut. The versatile beatsmith and BBC 6 Music Mix’s newest resident DJ has been quite busy crafting his first solo album to be released later this year.

A number of festival favorites will return this year, including Dirtybird label chief and Detroit native, Claude VonStroke as well as global dance sensation, John Digweed. The enigmatic Jimmy Edgar will also make his festival return, as will Daniel Bell – this time under his famous moniker, DBX - live.
