LOTUS

Never a group to be pigeonholed, Lotus brings many musical weapons to the stage. From festival stages such as Rothbury, Wakarusa and Red Rocks to theaters across the country the band has left grinning crowds dripping with sweat. Equal parts dance and rock, Lotus has been crafting a unique brand of instrumental rock for the past decade.

Their latest release Oil on Glass/Feather on Wood “proves that no words are needed to elicit any feelings, the instrumentals alone are enough to connote a myriad of emotions.” The dual EPs show the multiple sides of Lotus with Feather on Wood showcasing slow-building guitar driven compositions and Oil on Glass leaning toward harder beats and textures. Like a Lotus show, the two sides work together to form a cohesive whole.

The big light show and pounding beats may be club inspired, but the band’s ability to connect with the audience through emotive composition and dynamic improvisation pushes performances past the elusive barrier dividing concert and experience.

ESKMO

Brendan Angelides is a San Francisco based electronic music producer who records and performs live as Eskmo. His multi-genre compositions have been featured on influential labels like Warp Records and Planet Mu (most recently having been signed to the mighty Ninja Tune). While Angelides’ tracks encompass a wide range of electronic styles, he avoids classifications. Bleep.com described his tracks as “Masterfully produced… sophisticated, post-Dilla hip-hop funk“. His last single of 2009 entitled “Let Them Sing” on Mu was met with equal praise and described by sites like Boomkat as “[Putting] Eskmo on his own electronic plateau.”

In the past five years he’s released over a dozen singles and EPs while touring throughout North America and Europe. He’s also remixed works by diverse artists such as Bibio, Spor, STS9, Amon Tobin and Bar9, to name a few. Angelides also runs the Ancestor label, which issued his “Hypercolor” and “Angus Dei” singles in 2009 to positive reviews from numerous magazines, blogs and tastemakers. Ninja Tune recording artist and film composer Amon Tobin hailed his work as “some of the best production I’ve heard in recent times.”

NADIS WARRIORS

With a sound that defies genre definition, the Nadis Warriors are taking the country by storm, showcasing their unique sound and scene changing message to the masses. One of the few musical acts to perform onstage with artist Alex Grey, their eclectic mix of musical layers incorporates Tibetan singing bowls, tablas, live guitar and keys to create an electronic excursion through healing and dance. They have performed at almost every major music festival across the US including: Wakarusa, Nocturnal Festival, Sonic Bloom and Big Up. This spring they will be embarking on a national tour with artist Alex Grey promoting consciousness through music and art.

GOVINDA

Govinda is the alter-ego of Austin, Texas born producer/composer Shane O Madden. He began studying violin and composition at the age of eight and went on to study at the University of Texas School for Music.  It was O Madden’s pursuit of his gypsy roots that opened his ears to music from around the world. From experiences learning violin with mysterious masters on his journeys across the globe and his passion for modern design and technology, the current sound of Govinda was born.
