On Friday December 4th at 1015 Folsom, HUSHconcerts proudly presents a once in a lifetime performance by one of popular music’s most important producers, GIORGIO MORODER. In his first Bay Area appearance in decades, the Italian-based musical genius will play a career-spanning live hardware set that ties together the five decades of the disco movement he created. Mr. Moroder has worked with some of the most famous names in music including Barbara Streisand, Elton John, Cher, Freddy Mercury, Janet Jackson, Pat Benatar, and David Bowie. He was the force behind Queen of Disco Donna Summer‘s rise to fame throughout the 1970s and seminal tracks like Love to Love You Baby, I Feel Love and Hot Stuff. He penned underground club classics like The Chase from the film MidnightExpress while collecting grammys, oscars and platinum records for hits like Kenny Loggins Danger Zone, Blondie’s Call Me, Irene Cara’s Flashdance and Daft Punk’s Random Access Memories. He has earned three Academy Awards, four Golden Globes, four Grammys and more than 100 gold and platinum records. Giorgio Moroder was inducted into the Dance Music Hall of Fame in 2004.
An incredible lineup of notable Bay Area star deejays are joining forces to support this disco legend, including DJ DAN (doing a post-Moroder disco set) and DAVID HARNESS (playing before the legend). Disco sets will also be dropped by the likes of MOTION POTION, ANTHONY MANSFIELD, DJ DIALS, EUG, STEVE FABUS, and MOZGHAN. The KM/FM room will feature KING MOST, FREDDY & MARKY and the basement Electric Nostalgia room will feature theme sets by MATT HAZE (Daft Punk), and SHOUTS! (Janet’s Jimmy Jams).
