Lovers, poets and madmen! Grown weary of your post-Burn slumber? Join Ego Trip on Friday, December 12th at Spin Nightclub for a line up straight out of our Midwinter Night’s Dreams! We’re thrilled to be bringing Emancipator - one of our all time favorite musical acts - to share his enthralling melodies in our fantastical frozen forest. He’ll be joined by his violinist and frequent collaborator Ilya Goldberg. A stellar bass and house lineup featuring Sugarpill, Patricio, Lapa, and a flurry of local talent on Funktion-One sound complete this frosty ball.
Wear your frozen winter’s finest and enjoy live art, performance, body painting and visuals. 100% of the proceeds from the event will go towards bringing Ego Trip back to Burning Man. So, join us merry wanderers of the night and wonder, “Are we awake, or do we dream?”

Known for its etheric melodies, immaculately smooth samples, and addictive drum beats, Emancipator’s music has captivated a diverse audience across the globe. One might struggle to place a finger on what makes the music so addictive, but would undoubtedly return to the underlying feeling of balance and connection. Ilya Goldberg began training in classical violin at an early age in his birthplace of Perm, Russia. Since moving to the States in 2000 to pursue music full-time, his skill and dedication has guided him on the nomad’s path from the Cleveland Institute of Music to international tours out of his home base in Portland, Oregon.
In the classical realm, Ilya has performed with several Russian and American orchestras, chamber groups, and as a soloist. With over a decade of experience as a chameleonic studio musician on violin, viola, and mandolin he is lauded for his ability to fluidly adapt his improvisational mastery to any genre. Ilya also fills a unique niche by infusing electronic music with classical technique and a sensibility spanning epochs of music. His collaborators include Random Rab, Lynx, Rena Jones, The Human Experience, Future Simple Project and Devochka. Currently, he performs and works closely with innovative electronic trip-hop producer Emancipator.
As a producer under the moniker Lapa, Ilya weaves together musical stories with complexly textured harmonies, expansive melodies, and intricately layered beats. His music blurs borders and transcends boundaries, illuminating the resonance of universal forces and teleporting people to wild, dream-like places of serenity and connection.

Patricio has been forging a style of his own since the first time he started collecting records and djing in 1992. Sharpening his skills spinning vinyl at small clubs in LA, Patricio’s experience in the early 90’s behind the decks converted into a profound knowledge of what people want on the dance floor. Drawing on the passion and soul instilled in him growing up in Buenos Aires, Argentina, he has broken out of the invisible confines of genres. Patricio's sound has been known to be all over the musical spectrum but ultimately developed into a deep and moody side of house and techno, layered with beautiful melodies and sexy bass lines. His sets are always fueled by the never-stopping energy that characterizes him and have been known to last longer than 8 hours.
