3D Productions Presents another Highly Renown Installment of Our Monthly ULTRABASS Series.

ULTRABASS Featuring:

Black Sun Empire - Black Sun Empire Rcordings / oBSEssions / Shadows of The Empire (Utrecht, Netherlands) RARE DC/US APPERANCE!!!

Black Sun Empire represent the finest in dark and techy dancefloor drum & bass. Since bursting onto the scene back in 2000, they’ve continued to develop their own unique style and sound, releasing numerous singles as well as four full-length LPs and establishing themselves as leaders in the field. With their awesome DJ skills and inspirational productions, Black Sun Empire have reached far beyond their native Holland. They’ve toured the world over, with highlights this year including Glastonbury and numerous other festival appearances, and continue to build on their growing reputation as some of the most exciting and consistent performers around. 'Lights and Wires' is their fourth LP, released in November 2010, and demonstrates their versatility across tempos whilst still staying true to their own sound.

Borne of brothers Milan and Micha Heyboer, along with Rene Verdult, Black Sun Empire is a powerful and prominent drum and bass DJ/Production posse. Based in Utrecht, the Netherlands, this talented trio are now in the tenth year of tearing up dancefloors and producing tunes both technically proficient and powerful. Originally inspired by labels like the nasty No U Turn, Prototype and Virus, the Empire sowed its seeds steadily across the scene until 2001, when they established their own eponymous label to take complete control of their creative urges.

3 years later the boys dropped the bomb that was their debut album driving insane: deft, dynamic, devastating, deranged - the day of the Dutch was dawning.

Soon after they sensed a need to satisfy other sides of their collective pschye, and thus sister label oBSEssions was created cater for atmospheric, unusual and funky flavours. Both big [Kemal, Noisa, Chris SU and SKC] and newer names have featured so far, and this fresh label is certainly no lightweight. Motivated by the massive response Driving Insane had received, they went back into the studio to start work on their second album. Released late in 2005, Cruel and Unusual raised the banner of the Black Sun Empire even higher than before, and its still being rinsed right around the world.

Now in 2007 the three have returned their attention to their third album, which this time will be a team effort and features some of the finest producers to be found in the scene at the moment. Entitled Endangered Species, this quality complilation includes input from BSE, Noisa, Bad Robot, Chris.SU, Jade, State Of Mind, D.Kay, Optiv, Audio and more. Split into three 2x12" EPs, the first hit shelves late last year, and the second is set to show up sometime soon.

Once you've basked in the glory of the Black Sun, you won't look back.
