Viral Sound is a four-piece band with an organic fresh blend of live electronica, dirty get-down funk, jamming rock and roll, reggae and jazz. They have a telepathic way of connecting with each other and the crowd to generate an explosively mind-bending musical experience. Some of their influences include The Grateful Dead, Herbie Hancock, Jamiroquai and Lotus, but their style is of its own breed. Each member’s musical approach is unique and eclectic, drawing from varied musical backgrounds and interests. Viral Sound unites a distinct attentiveness to sound and a feverish desire to explore every facet of musical territory in order to create an intoxicating auditory thrill that spreads like a virus. The band consists of Stephen Howell on the keys/synthesizer, Ariel Moore on the bass/vocals, Charley Zahringer on the guitar, and Patrick Ajamie on the drums. Originally from New York and now based in Providence, R.I., their infectious sound has been grabbing minds, bodies and dancin’ spirits everywhere—this is one virus that can’t be contained.
