Armada was created back in 2003 by Armin van Buuren, Maykel Piron and David Lewis, of which the first 2 letters of their names form nothing less than ‘Armada’. The Amsterdam-based label works with and manages some of the biggest names in dance music, from Markus Schulz, Stonebridge, Andy Moor, Josh Gabriel, Dash Berlin, DJ Remy and M.I.K.E. to Roger Shah, Mischa Daniels, Simon & Shaker and of course Armin himself. Coldharbour Recordings, Ava, Different Pieces, Aropa, Pilot 6, Electronic Elements, Armind and A State Of Trance are just a selection of the 26 imprints residing under the Armada umbrella. Together they’ve published over 2100 quality releases to the worldwide music market. In 2009 and 2010, the label was awarded ‘Best Global Dance Label’ at the IDMA show. But it doesn’t stop there. Armada also hosts successful events around the globe, entering the areas of management and events. Its Ibiza parties at club Amnesia yearly attract over thousands of party lovers.

Ultimately Managing Director and co-owner Maykel Piron puts it best: “It’s mainly important to be able to release high quality dance music. That basically means we should be able to release every genre of track: if we love it, we have the opportunity to release it.”
